- Die Brug
Die Brug Farm approached 2Zero50 with a long-term goal: to go completely off-grid.
To begin this transition, we installed a custom system consisting of 86,4kWp solar capacity, a 258kWh battery system, and a 150kW hybrid inverter. Of the farm’s original six Eskom connections, five have already been decommissioned. The final point remains temporarily active to support the system via a DC charger – enabling the batteries to charge from the grid without requiring a grid-tied application.
This approach ensures maximum flexibility as the farm moves toward full energy independence. Over the next year, we’ll monitor system performance and power yield closely. Based on the data, Die Brug intends to expand the system and remove the last Eskom connection, going entirely off-grid.
The project highlights our commitment to customised design, ongoing R&D, and implementing the latest technology to meet our clients’ evolving needs.
